Pinks All Out '09

The racing crew attended Pinks All Out '09  in Ennis Texas at the Texas Motorplex and had a blast! (More pictures are coming!)

Highlights of the Saturday show included Fuel Altereds running over175 mph in the 1/8th mile, a quick 8 class with cars in the 6.70-8.0 second range (1/4 mile), a wheel stander, a wheelie class, racing lawnmowers, a jet car and of course the 16 car final pick that runs for the money.

Our friend Jack ran a record setting 3.90 @ 175mph in the 1/8th mile!!!!! WOW! Also that run popped the burst panel well before the finish line, so it would have been even faster if he made it all the way with full power! Way to go Jack! Is that like strapping yourself to a JATO rocket or what??!!

None of our cars ended up in the money run but we all had a blast anyway!

Here's a list of cars and drivers.  They are all customers or friends or both:

Gary Pruett's 68 Nova, Big block Chevy-this hot rod is a legitimate 10 second street car with no power adders!  It even has street tires and mufflers!

Keith White's 67 Chevy truck is a consistent performer that ran a string of 10.0's in Keith's capable hands and without breaking a sweat.  More info on this awesome ride can be found on the "racing" page.

Dan Holland's 85 Ford Mustang had issues hooking up at first but he and Julian Norman got creative and presto he's hooking hard and knocking on the 10's with low 11 second times.  This is also a daily driver so street racers  beware! Turns out, Dan probably had the best chance of getting in the final field...they picked all 11.20 cars.

Pecos Smith ran mid 10s in his full size all steel heavy truck, and he's still not happy yet.  This radical pickup is an all steel, stock suspension, small block with a plate Nitrous system.  -Any normal guy with this combo wouldn't even hit 12s but Pecos wont be happy till he brings in a 9!

Kermit Tieken was there too but had bad luck with his shifter and then his transmission.  The new turbo combo has the power, but the transmission just wouldn't hold it.  Me and my crew slept on the floor of his trailer both nights-Thanks Kermit!!

Randy Sammons' 06 Mustang is a wolf in sheep's clothing.  Running consistent 12.0s, this street rocket looked and performed like a pro.  Great job Randy!

Me, Zach(my son) and T.J. Hedrick(my nephew)  made up the Luv truck crew.  The tech crew told us we couldn't run faster than a 10.0 so I dumped the first run after the 1/8th mile and ran a 9.80@89 mph oops! We lucked out and they didn't kick us out (yet).  Saturday morning, Rich told us priority number one was to run it all out so that was good enough for me.  I let her rip & ran an off pace 9.30@154 and got kicked out as soon as I  got my timeslip! Oh well, NHRA certs for next year.

Thanks to all the friends and families who participated this year and especially to Lisa White and Donna Pruett for taking care of us unworthy guys!
