2014 Heads Up Street Wars Rules

2014 Street Wars Heads Up 13.0 Index Class NEW!!

This class will be open to street legal vehicles running 13.0 or slower. If your vehicle runs quicker than 13.0 during competition, you will be disqualified!

Street Legal (1/4 Mile)

  • No Time/ Time Slips Cut in Half, so all vehicles et and mph are private to driver and to track staff)
  • Functional Mufflers (no open cutouts while racing, turbo does not qualify as a muffler)
  • Exhaust must exit behind drivers seat location, catalytic converters not required
  • Street Legal- all lights operational (hi and low head, tail, turn, stop, license)
  • DOT Street legal tires only, all four
  • Power Adders (nitrous, turbos, supercharger) or Naturally Aspirated
  • Full interior, 2 front seats, except rear seat delete ok, all other interior as factory equipped
  • Stock Appearing Dash, aftermarket gauges ok, stock firewall, floorpan, and wheel-wells.
  • Valid License plate( Dealer/Temp plates prohibited)
  • Valid Insurance Card
  • Valid State inspection sticker if applicable to license type(unless not required by that state)
  • Lexan Windows Prohibited (front, rear, and sides)
  • Factory frame with stock suspension mounts and locations (bolt ons ok) No ladder bar, four link, coil overs unless they bolt in factory locations. Beefed up factory mounts ok for strength
  • Engine swaps ok, engines in stock location
  • All stock factory equipped body, and frame( lightweight hood ok.)
  • Any factory style engine and trans assembly (no lenco, liberty, jerico clutch-less trans, no jet, turbine, turbo-shaft style engines
  • No ac run while in lanes or racing, also no icing intake if condensation leaks onto track, vehicle will be removed from competition
  • Bypassed or removed emissions systems ok
  • All other track safety rules apply. See general safety requirements
  • These rules may be modified by track owner at any time for safe and fair competition.

2014 Dr Hooks Heads Up Street Truck Class (1/4 Mile)

  • .400 Pro Tree, Auto Start ON, courtesy staging. $20 entry fee all going toward payout!
  • 11.50 bump spot! If vehicle is faster than 11.50 in competition it will be disqualified!
  • No Time/ Time Slips Cut in Half, so all vehicles et and mph are private to driver (and to track staff)
  • Functional Mufflers (no open cutouts while racing, turbo does not qualify as a muffler)
  • Exhaust must exit behind drivers seat location, catalytic converters not required
  • Street Legal- all lights operational (hi and low head, tail, turn, stop, license)
  • DOT Street legal tires only, all four

Pure Street Naturally Aspirated and factory supercharged Rules (1/4 Mile ) 

  This class is mainly for Naturally Aspirated cars and trucks with bolt on modifications with the exception of factory equipped supercharged cars and trucks that came from the manufacturer with a supercharger or turbocharger. This class has a bump spot of 11.0. If your vehicle is quicker than 11.0 seconds in the ¼ mile during competition, you will be disqualified!

  • No ac run while in lanes or racing, also no icing intake. If condensation leaks onto track, vehicle will be removed from competition
  • Bypassed or removed emissions systems ok
  • Door cars and trucks only (no dragsters, altered, bikes, buggies)
  • All other track safety rules apply.

True Street Rules (1/4 Mile )

  • .400 Pro Tree, Auto Start ON, courtesy staging
  • This class has a bump spot of 9.50. If your car runs faster than 9.5 in the ¼ mile during competition, you will be disqualified.
  • No Time/ Time Slips Cut in Half, so all vehicles et and mph are private to driver (and to track staff)
  • Functional Mufflers (no open cutouts while racing, turbo does not qualify as a muffler)
  • Exhaust must exit behind drivers seat location, catalytic converters not required
  • Street Legal- all lights operational (hi and low head, tail, turn, stop, license)
  • DOT Street legal tires only, all four ; size limit 28” tall, 10.5” wide tread-width
  • Single system Power Adder (nitrous, turbos, supercharger) or naturally aspirated.
  • Full interior, 2 front seats, except rear seat delete ok, all other interior as factory equipped
  • Stock Appearing Dash, aftermarket gauges ok, stock firewall, floorpan, and wheelwells.
  • Valid License plate( Dealer/Temp plates prohibited)All current, antique tags ok if vehicle qualifies
  • Valid Insurance Card
  • Valid State inspection sticker if required by license type(unless not required by that state)
  • Lexan Windows Prohibited (front, rear, and sides)

Our Fastest Heads Up Class!

Outlaw Street (1/8th mile ) 

  • .400 Pro Tree, Auto start ON, courtesy staging
  • No Time/Time Slips Cut in Half, so all et and mph times are private to driver (and track staff)
  • All Lights must be Functional (high and low head, stop, tail, turn, and license)
  • License, inspection (if applicable), insurance. All current, antique tags ok if vehicle qualifies
  • Max tire size 29” tall, 10.5” wide treadwidth all four. Race tires ok
  • Door cars and trucks only. (no dragsters, altered, bikes, buggies)
  • Stock factory body, and frame, lightweight bolt ons ok (hood, deck, doors, bumpers, fenders) Any safe Suspension
  • Lightweight windows ok, Lexan or equiv
  • Any factory style engine, (no jet, turbine, turboshaft engines)
  • Any trans combo
  • Back half chassis ok, must retain partial factory frame/ unibody forward of firewall
  • Multiple power adders ok
  • Must have functional muffler (turbo does not qualify as muffler)
  • All other track safety rules apply.
  • These rules may be modified by track owner at any time for safe and fair competition.
  • No air conditioning while in lanes or racing, also no icing intake if condensation leaks onto track, vehicle will be removed from competition

Anyone challenging the rules or any vehicle not complying with the rules must submit a written letter detailing the offense of the competitor in question and $100 in cash. If tech determines the competitor in question is non compliant, the vehicle will be disqualified and the money will be returned. If the vehicle is found legal and compliant, the money will be split between the track owner and the vehicle owner in question. Verbal complaints will not be considered. The complaint will be accepted and reviewed at the track owners discretion. Anyone can trailer their vehicle to the heads up street races. If you can do it without a trailer, that’s great! However, distance, safety, and the possibility of breakage are always an issue. If the street-ability of any vehicle is in question, a mandatory road trip of up to 20 miles may be necessary to collect any earnings or trophies. (this will be left entirely up to tech, and the track owner). Any vehicle unable to complete the required trip, will be disqualified and winnings will be forfeited. Any and all entry fees are non refundable. No break cards will be available. Any and all decisions made by the staff and track owner are non negotiable. Non compliance by any contestant and/ or spectator can result in ejection from the track. This video was taken of the Mustang which we found out later was actually one of our customers.  However, the granada is being driven by Neil.  He says other than the hood, it is a perfect sleeper. This was at Late Model Restoration's 10th Anniversary celebration.Below is a video of Neil and Casey Rance at the same event. Casey had the second highest record for horsepower on the dyno that day.

Pinks All Out '09

*Above is a short video of the Luv truck at Pinks All Out in San Antonio 2008! Calli's a good camera operator. I went 8.61 @ 161 there.
Its a 1974 Chevrolet Luv body with a 400 small block engine, FAST EFI, twin t72 turbos, a big air to air intercooler, a powerglide & a 9 inch rear. As you can see, burnouts are my favorite pastime! Completely homegrown, I built it over several years time as I could afford it and now its like part of the family. Thanks to my family & friends for the help & support of all my bad habits! See you at the track!

First pass

Kermit Tieken's little Volkswagen Beetle just got meaner! With a little input from me and Casey Rance, he's added a t3t4 turbo with a drawthrough Holley. We tuned this hotrod on our dyno and easily made 250 RWHP. Normally running mid to low 12's, hes stepped up in a big way & is now running mid 11's on a mild tuneup & low boost! He also is going to Pinks All Out this year with the gang. Good luck Kermie!

Caseys late model Chevy pickup is coming around. He has a 02 or so full size truck running a 6 liter and a turbo as big as a trash can under the bed! We've had it on the dyno a couple times tweaking on it and is a work in progress. Casey does nearly all the work and tuning himself and is doing a great job!

Dan Holland is having us help him build a supercharged notchback Mustang for Pinks All Out 09 and for street duty afterward, so look out cause its a wolf in sheep's clothing!

Billy(from our Killeen shop) and Gary White have just purchased two Dwarf cars for racing at the local circle track. One has EFI & is water cooled, while the other is carbed & air cooled. More info coming soon!
