News!!
The turbo Luv and about 5 other customer and employee cars travelled to San Antonio Raceway in March to participate in Pinks-All out! It was hard work!
Well the guys stayed in line for 5 hrs on Thursday to get their spots...It was miserable cold and rainy...on Friday it was dry but awfully windy. Saturday was beautiful. It was alot of hurry up & wait but there were some awesome cars and we all had a great time!
Chris Pace-63 Thunderbird 'thundersled' 428SCJ, N20, C6, 9". It'll drag frame and pull G's at the same time!-made a good showing but had a little trouble hooking up....we'll fix that!
Matt Fitzgerald-86 Buick Regal 355SBC, T350, N20, built by Matt, gutted to the hilt! Buick makes it, Chevy shakes it! Hooked up enough to brake an axle on Fri night but we got him going again to run on Sat. Thanks to everyone for pitching in! He even got an interview.
Neil Elliott-74 turbo'd Chevy LUV 400SBC, glide, 9", All home grown @ TCS! 8.70's to 9.0's @14psi! He ran the 5th fastest and had best 1/8th mile burnout by far! did not run his best time but did reach his fastest speed to date...161mph!
Pecos Smith-72 Chevy 1/2 ton P/U SBC, N20, T350, 9", All metal and full frame. This thing does low 10's and pulls the wheels at least a foot off the ground! Pecos says 'It'll either haul ass or blow up!' So far, it's haulin' ass! As expected, Pecos had a fine run...pulled the wheels off the ground again-He was the closest to the field that got picked but dang it he was just a little too fast for them.
Kevin West-76 Disco Nova 355SBC, N20, ported heads by Will, T350, 9" & caged. This thing's got enough power to make Olivia Newton-John's head spin! Had a few issues on Fri but it ran respectable times on Saturday...Kevin may now be addicted
Kermit 'the frogman' Tieken-VW bug He built it, he painted it, he races it and it goes fast! This amazing guy is over 60 years young, loves racing, has a great attitude and can put a spankin' on most V8's without even breathing hard! VW power, std shift, no power adders, and can pull 12 second time slips out of his pocket on any given Friday! Kermit ran well as expected but his lane mate hit the wall on his first pass. He came back and showed them what for. He also got interviewed...this man is serious about his sport and definitely displayed great sportsmanship even while nearly freezing to death on Thursday night.
We saw many friends and customers there...it was more crowded than we expected. As soon as we find out when that episode will air, we will let you know!!!!
There was a nice article in the Killeen Daily Herald!
In the Communities section on Sunday March 9th there was an article entitled Boys & Their Toys.....hope you saw it. It is great to have the support of the community!!!
